It’s that time of year again. In late August every year Esmeralda County hosts the annual Goldfield land sale in conjunction with Goldfield Days. The event is held in back of the courthouse at about 10 AM on the third Saturday of every August.
This year they have eleven parcels for sale and without doubt the event will attract some colorful people from Las Vegas, Reno, and points beyond.
I am posting the results from last three auctions up on the site. as you can see prices dropped last year considerably from the levels they were at in 2008 and 2007. One important item of note is that in 2009 six parcels didn’t sell. As a warning these six parcels have shown up on the 2010 auction roster. Please be careful with bidding on the sites because they have increased in price from last year when they did not sell. These parcels are in blocks 102, 159, 162, and 163. Most of these are in the south section of town near the brewery.
The two parcels in block 209 are in the northeast corner of town near the motel and the Santa Fe.
The parcel in block 108 is on the left side of highway 95 as you leave town toward Tonopah.
The parcel in block 74 is about one block north of where highway 95 makes the right turn.
The auction is always fun to attend, but if you are going to bid please be prepared to pay the annual property taxes on the parcel.
